Coaxical

RG Rating

Coaxical cable uses RG rating to distinguish different types of coaxical cables

RG 58

Only Used for Networking in old days.

It has BNC Connectors.

RG 59

They are used for video and networking

RG 6

They are used for video and networking

RG 6 uses F type connectors. This is used for TVs

UTP Unshielded Twisted Pair

Abour 100 meteres, unshielded.

RJ 11

It is used for phone and has 4 contact.

RJ45

It is used for networking and has 8 contacts.

Shielded twisted pair

same like UTP but the wires are shielded for the protection and interferenace like EMI.

Fibre optic cables

it doesnt use electricity, it uses light. It is very fast

Multimode Fiber

It uses LED

Single Mode Fiber

Uses Laser

Plenum rating

As cables are covered in plastic which as ability to burn

PVC (NON PLENMU)

It is very cheap, vulnerable to burn.

Riser Ratin

Desined when you run cables into different floors.

Direct Burial

Direct burial

cables (those meant to be laid under the ground without the use of a protective metal or plastic conduit) are usually constructed with PE jackets, although some have a jacket made from thermoset material which protects well in extremely high temperatures.
